| Introduction:
The
Karakoram Highway was opened for official traffic at the
1st of May 1986. It is called "Wonder of
Genies". The highway is 1260 km long and is
crossing Pakistani regions of Kohistan, Gilgit and Hunza.
After passing the 4733 m Kunjerab pass it leads to the
width of the Chinese Pamir. We are driving on a part of
this crazy road. Along the old Silk route we can enjoy
the beautiful region of Hunza. Huge mountains surround
this unique oasis and icy breaks which are changing
their colors with different site of the sun. The
excursion to Swat and Chitral will give the opportunity
to get in touch with the different cultures of North
Pakistan. Baltistan, as well called "Little
Tibet", borders in the North with China and in the
East with occupied Indian Kashmir. Again visit to Fairy
Meadow is the worth..
Programme:
Day
1
Arrival in Islamabad, transfer to hotel.
Sightseeing in Rawalpindi, which if your flight arrival
is in the morning.
If your arrival is by evening flight, then visit Faisal
Mosque on 02nd day, before you leave for
Peshawar.
Day
2
Drive
to Peshawar via Taxila.
Taxila was once the seat of Oriental culture. It
was invaded by Alexander the Great and passed
along to other rulers until finally reaching the hands
of Ashoka the Great, who molded the city into a
center of learning. The creative Gandhara period
followed shortly there after and Taxila remained the
center of learning. Philosophy and
Art. It came to a disastrous and pathetic end when
sacked by the White Huns. Today, Taxila is an
archaeologist paradise, there
is a well-maintained museum here and
eight sites scattered around a very short
radius. Amongst the best preserved are
Sirkap, Julain (the University) and
Mohra Moradu.
Upon
arrival at Peshawar, visit Qissa Khuani Bazaar, meet the
famous storytellers. Around the bazaar are huge, thin
houses with old style balconies, cooper and brass
handicrafts, the old bird market, the wool bazaar and
the grain market. Everything has its place. Over night
in hotel.

3
Drive
to the beautiful Swat valley. On the way there is a
possibility to visit the historical Buddhist sites in
Takhat-i-Bahi. Over night at the hotel.

4
Drive to Chitral via Dir. It’s incredible how the
weather-beaten road scrambles over the pass, laboring in
wide loops up the Dir side then plunging into Chitral in
about 50 sphincter tightening switchbacks. The
majestically Trich Mir 7787 m dominates the city. Over
night at the hotel.

05
Drive
up to Bamburet, which is the most famous Kalash valley.
There are non-Muslim people living in this remote valley
with their own believe and culture. Over night at the
hotel.

6
AM:
Leave for the sight seeing tour of Kalash people in
Bamburet valley.
Lunch at the restaurant.
PM:
Visit Rumbur valley and their houses.
Over night at the hotel.

7
Drive to the beautiful village of Mastuj. The jeep
is curving through the rugged mountains. The adventurous
road was used in former times as trading road between
Chitral and Gilgit. Over night at the hotel.
Day
8
After early breakfast drive to Shandur Pass(3734 m)
through the picturesque villages to Phunder Lake.
Another name is Anglers Paradise. The beautiful sight in
the blue lake full of trout let someone forget the
strains of the strenuous jeep drive. Over night at
Guppies.
Day
9
Drive
to Gilgit via Kargah. Gilgit is the capital of North
Pakistan. The city is situated in such a beautiful
picturesque surrounding. Over night in hotel.
Day
10
Drive
to Hunza, Karimabad following the famous KKH. On the way
one can admire the glittering mountains. Among other
things the Rakaposhi with its 7788 m. In the afternoon
visit of the 400 years old fort. Over night in hotel.

11
A walk to the Hoppar glacier will give an idea about the
world of glaciers. Over night in a hotel in Gulmit.
Day
12
Let’s
go to China! This is the today’s slogan. Drive to the
4703 m high Kunjerab pass. It is the continental
watershed. On one side the Indian Ocean on the other
side the sucking Taklamakan desert in the Tarim Basin in
China. If there is enough time, one make an excursion to
the beautiful situated Burit Lake. Over night in hotel
in Gulmit.
Day 13
AM:
Half day hike to Kamaras.
PM:
Drive back to Gilgit. Over night at the hotel.

14
A
6 - 7 hours jeep drive is forthcoming. Gilgit - Skardu.
Skardu, the capital of Baltistan, is the key point for
the mountaineering expeditions to climb the world famous
Karakoram Mountains, i.e. K2, Gasherbrum I, II, IV,
Broad Peak. Over night at the hotel.
Day
15
Drive
to Khaplu (2600 m), the most prosperous of Baltistan’s
old Kingdoms. Khaplu is beautifully situated along the
Ganghe river above the wide confluence of the Shyok,
Hushe and Baltoro rivers. Khaplu offers a lot to a
visitor about the history, the rich culture and the
people. The major attraction for a visitor is the old
palace of the ex-Raja with its impressive four story
wooden balcony above the entrance and the old wooden
mosque of Chakchan, which is supposedly the oldest
mosque in Baltistan. It shows Buddhist influence and is
reminiscent of Tibetan architecture. Over night at the
hotel.
Day 16
Drive
from Skardu to Rama via Deosai.
Over night at the hotel.
Day
17
Drive from Rama to Raikot and take the jeeps to
Tatto. Lunch at Tatto. Later continue to Fairy meadow
for 03 hours walk.
Over night at the hotel.
Day
18
Make full day excursion to Biyal Camp. Its about 03 + 03
hours walk for going up and back to Fairy Meadow. Over
night in hotel.
Day
19
Walk back to Tatto.
Take the jeep ride till Raikot Bridge and drive to
Besham via Chilas. Over night at the hotel.
Day
20
Drive
from Besham to Rawalpindi. Over night at the hotel.
Day
21
AM: Sight seeing of Rawalpindi / Islamabad, if you have
flight in the evening.
PM:
Onward flight. Khuda hafiz!
